Student Transportation
Calgary Transit provides transportation for over 25,000 Junior and Senior High school students registered with the Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic Board of Education. Students utilize regular Calgary Transit service, additional school trips and dedicated school service provided in some areas to augment regular service. Using Calgary Transit provides students the flexibility in transportation that is required to participate in extra curricular activities before and after school. In addition, Calgary Transit transports approximately 7,500 Catholic School Board elementary students per day on charter service. Students are required to show a Youth pass or buy a Youth ticket to access regular Calgary Transit service. These passes and tickets are available at all Calgary Transit vendor locations. Students may be eligible for rebates. Please contact the appropriate Board of Education for further information:

Q: How early should the student be at his/her bus stop?
A: Calgary Transit recommends that students be at their stop five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled time.

Q: How do I find out the location of my child's bus stop?
A: All school bus route schedules are available at your child's school. A schedule includes all bus stop information, (stop location and stop time).

Q: How do I get a stop changed, added or moved?
A: All requests concerning stops must be in writing. You can obtain a Transportation Change Request Form from your child's school.

Q: My child has left something on the bus; how do I get it back?
A: Call the Calgary Transit Customer Service Lost and Found Property line at (403) 268-1600

Q: In poor weather the bus tends to be late, what can I do to ensure my child's safety?
A: Calgary Transit buses experience the same delays as cars due to poor weather, traffic tie-ups, etc.

If the scheduled bus has not arrived at the stop within fifteen (15) minutes of the scheduled time, alternate plans should be made to transport the child. Please ensure your child has a predetermined home/neighbour he can go to in those situations.

Calgary Transit also advises that students should be dressed appropriately in the event of inclement weather.
