Located in the northwest sector of the city, the community of Dalhousie is bounded by John Laurie Boulevard to the north, Shaganappi Trail to the east, Crowchild Trail to the south, and Sarcee Trail to the west. The gently sloping topography is characteristic of the northwest sector, with the dominant land form being Nose Hill, north of Dalhousie.

Silver Springs lies on the north bluff of the Bow River and provides a view of Canada Olympic Park and the mountains to the west. Although a number of country residential homes had been built earlier, the community of Silver Springs actually began to develop in the early 1970s and was fully developed by about 1980. As the plans intended, the prime land uses in Silver Springs are residential development and major open spaces.

Calgary Communities, Haysboro

The area comprising Haysboro was once owned by Harry Hays, a native-born Albertan who was elected as Mayor of Calgary during the early 1950s. Mr. Hays was a dedicated westerner who went on to gain provincial and national political acclaim as Federal Minister of Agriculture between 1962 and 1965 and later as a member of the Canadian Senate. The community was annexed in 1956 and two years later development began in Haysboro. Proximity to major transportation routes allows for easy access to many other parts of the City. In addition, the Light Rail Transit (L.R.T.) system is easily accessible to Haysboro residents. This community is favourably located in terms of recreation opportunities, wit the Glenmore Reservoir and the pathway nearby.
